Human Service Zone Board
(3 Year Terms) Appointed members of the Human Service Zone Board must consist of local elected officials and other key community partners. The Human Service Zone Director shall serve as presiding officer of the Zone Board as a non-appointed member.
The Human Service Zone Board shall provide information to the ND Department of Health and Human Services (NDHHS) relative to community and resident needs and advocate to meet those needs. The Board shall review services and programs provided by the Human Service Zone and make recommendations for improvement in services, programs or facilities. The Board shall assist in efficiently coordinating and conducting human service activities within the Zone. North Dakota Century Code 50-01.2
The Human Service Zone shall, under the direction and supervision of the ND Department of Health and Human Services, supervise and direct all human services activities conducted by the zone which are financed in whole or in part with funds allocated or distributed by the NDDHHS. Programs and services administered include general assistance or other public assistance, supplemental nutrition assistance program, home energy assistance, child welfare services, and other human services programs.
